Singletons

Singletons is a Reykjavík-based blues and blues-rock band that performs regularly in collaboration with the Reykjavík Blues Society (Blúsfélag Reykjavíkur). The band plays a mix of original material and covers drawn from the classic blues and blues-rock canon — J.J. Cale, Tony Joe White, Rory Gallagher, and Cream among their touchstones. The current lineup features Hannes Birgir Hjálmarsson on vocals and guitar, Gunnar Örn Sigurðsson on guitar, Árni Björnsson on bass, and Steinar Björn Helgason and Ragnar Ólason sharing drum and keyboard duties. The band has performed at prestigious venues including the Harpa Concert Hall during Culture Night (Menningarnótt), blues evenings at Tónabíó, and regular gigs at Café Rosenberg. The Singletons bring together some of the most experienced players in Iceland's blues community — from the prolific songwriter Hjálmarsson (also frontman of Lame Dudes) to the renowned luthier and guitarist Gunnar Örn Sigurðsson, whose Orn Custom Guitars are played by acts including The Vintage Caravan and Of Monsters and Men.
