ABOUT ÁRNI BJÖRNSSON
Árni Björnsson is an Icelandic bassist and a key member of the blues band Singletons, one of the active blues outfits in Reykjavík's thriving blues community. Playing alongside vocalist and guitarist Hannes Birgir Hjálmarsson, guitarist Gunnar Örn Sigurðsson, and drummers Steinar Björn Helgason and Ragnar Ólason, Björnsson provides the low-end foundation for the band's repertoire of original blues and covers of artists like J.J. Cale, Tony Joe White, Rory Gallagher, and Cream.
The Singletons perform regularly at Reykjavík venues and events organized by the Reykjavík Blues Society, including appearances at the Harpa Concert Hall during Culture Night and blues evenings at venues like Tónabíó and Café Rosenberg. Björnsson's solid, groove-driven bass work is central to the band's tight and energetic sound.
