ABOUT EMAJOR

Emajor is an Icelandic blues-rock band based in Reykjavík, formerly known as Blúsvinir Díönu (Diana's Blues Friends). The band adopted its current name in early 2023 and has since established itself as a regular presence in Iceland's blues scene. Led by guitarist Þorvaldur Daði Halldórsson — a native of Húsavík who has also brought the band's music to northern Iceland, including concerts at the Eurovision Museum — Emajor delivers a tight and powerful repertoire of blues and rock standards. The current lineup features Diana Von Ancken (Mama Di) on vocals, Daði Halldórsson on guitar, Gautur Þorsteinsson on keyboards, Steingrímur Bergmann Gunnarsson on drums, and Ólafur Friðrik Ægisson on bass. Emajor has performed at venues across Reykjavík, including Lemmy, Bryggjan Brugghús, and Djúpið. A highlight of their calendar was the 2026 Reykjavík Blues Festival, where they performed at the festival's opening at Krúserklúbburinn. The band's energy and commitment to classic blues delivery have made them a welcome addition to Iceland's community of working blues outfits.
