Óskar Logi Ágústsson

Óskar Logi Ágústsson is the founder, lead guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter of The Vintage Caravan — an Icelandic power trio that has become one of the most exciting rock acts to emerge from the country since its formation in 2006, when Ágústsson was just 12 years old. Inspired to pick up the guitar after watching "School of Rock," Ágústsson quickly developed a style that channels the raw energy of blues-rock legends like Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Cream through a modern, high-energy lens. The Vintage Caravan has released six studio albums — from their 2011 self-titled debut through "Voyage," "Arrival," "Gateways," "Monuments," to 2025's "Portals" — on labels including Nuclear Blast and Napalm Records, with extensive international touring across Europe and beyond. A dedicated "old school" player, Ágústsson favors vintage gear: a 1961 Reissue Gibson SG Standard, a blood-stained custom Telecaster, and his prized 1969 100-watt Marshall Super Tremolo Plexi amplifier. His custom instruments are built by Icelandic luthier Gunnar Örn Sigurðsson of Orn Custom Guitars. In 2021, he received "The Guitar Nail" for his service to guitar music, and in 2024, the Reykjavík Blues Society named him an honorary member in recognition of his contributions to the genre. Despite The Vintage Caravan's heavy rock leanings, Ágústsson's playing is deeply rooted in the blues — a foundation that gives his riff-driven compositions their grit and authenticity.
