ABOUT ONE-EYED MULE

Formed in Copenhagen in 2004 by singer-guitarist Rasmus Dall and multi-instrumentalist Uffe Ipsen, One-Eyed Mule takes its name from an old country song about "my one-eyed mule and my jersey cow" — a fitting handle for a band whose music draws deeply on the acoustic traditions of 1920s and '30s country blues, Delta folk and pre-war Americana.

The duo's sound has expanded over the years with the addition of Christian Rindorf on drums, Torben Guldager on guitar and keys, and Rune Højmark on pedal steel, creating cinematic arrangements that wrap Dall's smoky vocals in layers of atmospheric roots music. Think psych-folk and indie-soul meeting at a dusty crossroads.

Seven studio albums chart two decades of evolution: from the raw From the Beats to the Bible (2008) through the lush Bird of Passage (2022) to the reflective Lovesongs & New Routes (2025). The band remains active on the Danish and European live circuit, bringing a literary sensibility and cinematic sweep to every set.

Cinematic roots music rooted in pre-war country blues — two decades of atmosphere and raw beauty from Copenhagen.
