ABOUT JOAKIM TINDERHOLT & HIS BAND
Joakim Tinderholt — born 6 August 1983 in Herre, Telemark, and a cousin of Kid Andersen — formed his band in Oslo around 2005–06, drawing early members from the house band of the legendary Muddy Waters blues club. What emerged was a high-energy unit steeped in jump-blues, R&B and rock 'n' roll, delivered with a raw authenticity that quickly earned them a reputation across Europe.
Their debut album You Gotta Do More (2014) was nominated for both a Spellemannpris and an American Blues Blast Music Award. The follow-up Hold On (2017) received further Norwegian Grammy nods, and in 2018 the band represented Norway at the European Blues Challenge in Hell. A performance at the Royal Albert Hall followed in 2021.
The current line-up features Joakim Tinderholt on guitar and vocals, Håkon Høye on guitar, William Troiani on bass and Kjell Magne Lauritsen on piano — a tight, hard-swinging outfit equally at home in a festival field or a smoky club.
Their third album Deadlines arrived in 2023, adding yet another Spellemannpris nomination to the band's tally and proving that Tinderholt's brand of sweat-soaked, riff-driven blues shows no sign of slowing down.
