Fried Okra

Fried Okra (formerly the Fried Okra Band) is a Copenhagen-based blues trio rooted in the hypnotic, trance-like grooves of North Mississippi Hill Country blues. Led by vocalist and guitarist Morten Lunn, the band creates what they call "alternative blues" — original songs built on repetitive, drone-based rhythms that pull listeners into a deep, almost meditative state.

In 2017, Fried Okra won the Danish Blues Challenge in Silkeborg and went on to represent Denmark at the European Blues Challenge, where they achieved an impressive 2nd place. Since then, the band has received multiple nominations for the Danish Blues Album of the Year and was nominated for The Blues Live Award in 2021.

Their recordings — including Doing It Right (2020) — have earned praise for their raw authenticity and commitment to the Hill Country tradition. The trio features Morten Lunn (vocals, guitar, diddley bow), Thomas Crawfurd (drums), and Anders Wallin (bass).
