ABOUT FREDDIE NYSTRÖM BAND

Founded in 2005 and reborn in its current identity around 2016, the Freddie Nyström Band is a Gothenburg-based outfit that took the bold step of singing the blues in Swedish — a move that set them apart in a scene dominated by English-language performers. Leader Freddie Nyström's guitar work and vocals sit at the crossroads of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix and the late Swedish blues pioneer Rolf Wikström.

The core line-up features Freddie Nyström on vocals and guitar, Rolf Svensson on bass and Franky van Vossel on drums, with rotating keyboard players filling out the sound. Together they deliver a high-energy mix of electric blues, blues-rock and the occasional funk-inflected groove.

The band won the Dusty Road Blues Challenge, earning recognition as one of Sweden's sharpest emerging blues acts. They have been featured in Jefferson Blues Magazine and continue to build a following through relentless touring in Scandinavia and beyond.

Blues sung in Swedish, played with the fire of SRV and Gary Moore — Gothenburg's boldest blues export.
