Big Martin Band

The Big Martin Band brings a raw, Texas-style blues grit to the Danish scene. Built around the powerful vocals of frontman Big Martin, the trio — completed by bassist Jacob Kortbaek and drummer Mikko Peltola — strips the music down to its essentials: heavy grooves, stinging guitar and an uncompromising commitment to feel over flash.

Their debut album Sucker Punch Blues showcases nine original tracks that range from slow-burning shuffles to hard-hitting, up-tempo stompers, all driven by Big Martin's commanding stage presence and a rhythm section that hits like a freight train.

In 2026 the Big Martin Band represented Denmark at the European Blues Challenge in Katowice, Poland, reaching the semi-final round. It was a statement of intent from a band that, while still building its catalogue, has already proven it can hold its own on the continent's biggest blues stage.
